POLL: Does Reform UK have chance at next general election if Nigel Farage becomes leader?

Speculation is mounting over whether Nigel Farage is on the verge of a sensational political comeback.

His former party Reform UK, previously called the Brexit Party, is set to make a major announcement on January 3.

The move has fuelled rumours that the former Ukip and Brexit Party leader could return to the political fray.

Current Reform UK leader Richard Tice refused to confirm if the announcement would be about Mr Farage, who is currently the party’s honorary president.

The businessman said: “Patience is a virtue.”

There has been intense speculation over whether the Brexit architect will make a political comeback after his stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

Mr Farage reached the final and came third in the ITV reality show.

Speaking after he exited from the Australian jungle, he refused to rule out a return to politics.

Mr Farage told ITV’s Good Morning Britain: “Rishi is a lame duck walking, the Conservative Party is headed for total defeat.

“As to whether I have a future in politics, I have no idea at this moment in time. But what I would say is never say never.

“And our country needs actually people at the top with some firm guidance as to where we’re going to go in the future.

“At the moment, we are rudderless and I don’t see a Labour Party with the strength to get us out of this mess.”

There has also been speculation Mr Farage could rejoin the Conservative Party or do a deal with former PM Boris Johnson.

It comes as Reform UK is polling at around 10 per cent ahead of a general election due by January 2025.
