Police shut road for 33 hours as body is found – only to find it's an 'overused sex doll'

Police closed off a road for 31 hours after a “body was found”, only to discover it was an “overused” sex doll.

A forensic pathologist was called to the shut road in Kineton, Warwickshire, to investigate after a hand and foot were spotted in the undergrowth.

It took two days for officers to realise that what they thought was a woman’s dead body was actually a “realistic” sex doll worth up to £1,500.

A local told the Sun: “A rambler spotted a woman’s foot and hand poking out of the undergrowth and called the police thinking it was a dead body.

“The police thought they had a murder investigation on their hands so called in a forensics team.

“They had an officer manning each end of the road, there were two forensic vans and other investigators hunting for clues.

“When they finally dragged the ‘corpse’ out they realised the blunder. The officers had a big laugh about it. It was a very dirty, broken and overused sex doll.”

Officers were said to be investigating from 12pm Tuesday to 7pm Wednesday.

Warwickshire Police said it had followed “proper procedure”.

A spokesperson added: “It is with great relief that we can announce the pathologist was able to identify the foot and hand beneath the bush did in fact belong to a discarded and realistic life-size doll.”

Others have speculated that the doll was out in the woods as a practical joke.
