Police launch manhunt after man, 29, stabbed to death in London park


A 29-year-old man has been stabbed to death in a London park. Police were called to the incident in Peckham Rye Park just before 8.30pm yesterday, with paramedics also attending.

The man died at the scene shortly after 9pm.

Police said no arrests have yet been made and enquiries are ongoing.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 8.24pm on Friday, 30 December to reports of a stabbing in Strakers Road, Peckham Rye.

“Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance. They found a 29-year-old man who had been stabbed.

“Despite the efforts of the emergency services, he died at the scene shortly after 9pm.

“The man’s next of kin have been informed and will be supported by specialist officers.

“A crime scene is in place and enquiries are ongoing. No arrests have been made at this early stage of the investigation.”
