Police hunt three suspects after two boys injured in horror 'acid attack' at Tube station


Two boys have been injured after a suspected “corrosive substance” was thrown at them at a London Underground station.

The youngsters allege a liquid was thrown at them at Elm Park Tube station in Havering, east London, just after 8pm on February 24, according to detectives from British Transport Police.

The two boys were treated in hospital and their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing, BTP said.

CCTV images of three people officers want to speak to about the alleged attack have been released by the force.

One of the images shows a male dressed in a black puffer-style jacket with a black mask covering his face and a baseball cap.

A second male is also dressed all in black while a female appears to be wearing blue jeans, a cream top and trainers and carrying a green coat.

Det Insp Marvin Bruno said: “Violence in any form will not be tolerated on the rail network and we would like to reassure the travelling public our officers are working tirelessly to identify and apprehend those responsible.

“We are really keen to speak to the people in the images, or anyone else who witnessed the incident, as we believe they have information which could help our investigation.

“If you know them or have any information that might help, please get in touch.”

A BTP spokesperson said: “Officers would like to speak to the people in the CCTV images as they believe they may have information that could help their investigation.”
