Piers Morgan savages 'liar' Omid Scobie for making one brazen claim in new book

Piers Morgan has branded Endgame author Omid Scobie a “liar” over claims the TalkTV presenter had a relationship with Queen Camilla.

In the book about the Royal Family, released Tuesday, Scobie states that Piers and Camilla “enjoy regular chats on the phone”.

In his TalkTV show last night, Piers furiously hit out at the author, explaining: “He’s a liar, and I’ll tell you how I know he’s a liar because he writes a bit about me in the book.

“On one occasion he stated as a fact that I had regular phone conversations with Queen Camilla. For the record, I have never had a single phone conversation with Queen Camilla.

“Now he says as a fact in this book, that we had regular phone conversations, that, I personally know, is an absolute lie.”

This is not the first time this week the former Good Morning Britain presenter has hit out at Scobie’s claims.

He told The Sun: “(Scobie) also says that when I said on Good Morning Britain that Meghan Markle was Princess Pinocchio on air, that apparently she reached out to me – Queen Camilla – to thank me for standing up for The Firm.

“I had zero with Queen Camilla around that time at all… Nothing. Nothing. I did however, as I said publicly at the time, have conversations with several other members of the Royal Family and it wasn’t Queen Camilla.

“So I know personally, just from the little bits about me – are completely untrue. They are lies. So why should I believe any of this stuff?”

The broadcast also questioned Scobie’s claims about letters between the King and Meghan that mentioned “two members of the royal household” expressing concerns about Archie’s skin colour before he was born.

Morgan argued that access to the letters couldn’t have come from the King and suggested it was via Meghan or her friends.

He blasted: “It’s two things, this book, one it’s blatant lies and secondly it’s stuff he could only have got from Meghan Markle… That racism allegation,

“I’ve said this to you before, never appeared in Harry’s book. It has never been mentioned again. It’s like it never happened. By the way, as I said at the time, I don’t believe this happened.”

Harry and Meghan have denied in the past that they co-operated with Scobie for his 2020 book, Finding Freedom.

However, Meghan did later admit in the High Court that she had told an aide that they could brief Scobie and his co-author Carolyn Durand.
