Piers Morgan rages Harry's 'spewing lies' in angry rant forcing Kuenssberg to cut him off

Piers Morgan appeared on Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg to discuss the latest front pages and he couldn’t resist taking a pop at Prince Harry.

The TalkTV host claimed the Duke of Sussex told “lies” about the British media’s coverage of the war in Afghanistan.

Speaking in Heart of Invictus, Prince Harry claimed: “I saw what only people had talked about. That was the real trigger to see the real cost of war.

“Not just those individuals but also their families and how their lives would change forever.

“Stepping off the plane I was angry at what happened to these guys, I was angry that the media weren’t covering it. But at that point it wasn’t clear to me what needed to be done.”

Reflecting on his comments, Piers remarked: “Does the public have any sympathy with Prince Harry for his relentless vengeful campaign against the media in this country, which we have seen again recently with what he said about the troops in Afghanistan – that the British media somehow didn’t support them.

“Absolute lie. Harry has gone around in this campaign against the British media spewing lies with his wife Meghan Markle.

“I don’t think the public here have any sympathy for their privacy.”

He went on to add: “I’m not going to take lectures on privacy from a guy like Harry who has spent the last few years veraciously invading the privacy of his own family for vast financial gain.

“The guy is a shameless hypocrite and the public realises that.”

Laura cut in: “He’s not here to defend himself but you’ve made your view about him very clear.”

Earlier this week, Piers branded Harry a “spoiled twerp” following his claims he had “no support” when he returned from Afghanistan.

Piers posted on Twitter: “Are recollections varying again? So sick of this spoiled twerp constantly playing the victim – and lying about the support he got.”

Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg airs on BBC One on Sunday 9am.
