Peter Phillips was born at 10:46am on November 15, 1977, at St. Mary’s Hospital in London.

He was the first child of Princess Anne and Mark Phillips, who married in 1973.

At the time of his birth, there was a 41-gun salute from the Tower of London.

Peter was fifth in line to the throne when he was born, however that changed when his cousin Prince William was born in 1982.

Princess Anne’s son was christened on December 22 1977 by the Archbishop of Canterbury Donald Coggan.

The ceremony took place in the Music Room of Buckingham Palace.

His godparents are his maternal uncle, King Charles III; Geoffrey Tiarks; Captain Hamish Lochore; Lady Cecil Cameron of Lochiel and Jane Holderness-Roddam.

As his parents refused to give him a royal title, he was the first legitimate grandchild of a monarch in more than 500 years to be born without a title or courtesy title.

The Princess Royal’s son attended Port Regis Prep School in Shaftesbury, Dorset, before he followed royal tradition by enrolling at Gordonstoun in Moray, Scotland.

There, Peter was chosen to be head boy but after school, he decided to take a gap year and travelled to Sydney while he also worked for Jackie Stewart’s F1 racing team.

He later chose to attend the University of Exeter where he graduated in 2000 with a degree in Sports Science.

Autumn and Peter share two daughters together, Savannah, 13 and Isla, 11.

Savannah, the late Queen’s first great-grandchild, was born Savannah Anne Kathleen on December 29 2010 at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and at the time was 12th in line to the throne.

On March 29, 2012, the former couple welcomed their second daughter, Isla Elizabeth, who was born at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and was 13th in the line to the throne.
