Parents warned to be 'vigilant' after two men attempted to abduct children near school

Parents have been warned to be “vigilant” after two men in a van tried to abduct children on Halloween in south London.

The men reportedly targeted children outside a school in Clapham Common on Tuesday.

Sarah Segrave, principal of Eaton House Schools, warned parents in an email on Wednesday: “It has come to our attention that there was an attempted abduction of children last night by two men driving a dark grey van.”

She urged parents to “be vigilant and report any concerning situations to the police immediately”.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said it had no record of the incident being reported.
