Panicking Angela Rayner forced to run out back of pub after event hijacked by tax protest

Labour’s Angela Rayner was forced to flee out the back door of a pub this afternoon, after a campaign event was hijacked by tax protestors.

Ms Rayner was visiting Teesside with Labour’s Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves when the campaign stunt disrupted their plans.

Walking down Yarm highstreet, Ms Rayner was seen hiding under an umbrella as activists wearing ‘Tax inspector’ high-vis vests unveiled a giant banner reading: “Angela Rayner: Tax dodger?”

The protest comes amid growing accusations that Labour is refusing to hold their deputy leader’s tax affairs to the same high standard demanded of Tory politicians.

According to local sources, Ms Rayner was forced to sneak out the back door of the Tomahawk bar to avoid being photographed with the protestors on the way out.
