'Overworked' King Charles' cry for help as he begged staff to cancel Harry crisis meeting

King Charles reportedly begged royal staff to cancel his crisis meeting with Prince Harry due to him being “overworked”, according to claims made in Omid Scobie’s new book.

The royal biographer is set to publish his new release Endgame on November 28, but new extracts have been shared in French publication Paris Match and then translated into English.

One allegation made is that Harry sent out a “meeting request” to his father when the two were both due to be in London at the same time.

However the King did not respond and instead ordered “an assistant to get rid of him with the excuse that he was ‘overworked'”.

Relations between the two were already strained, and the publication of Harry’s memoir Spare weeks later did nothing to improve things in the family.

Endgame had been due to be published in August, but the release was delayed so that Mr Scobie could include further details about Harry attending the Coronation in May.

Publisher HarperCollins previously said that the book will “have the world talking”, with the author himself stating that it will reveal moments the Firm should be “ashamed of”.

A US publishing source told the Mirror: “The word is this is going to have bombshell after bombshell. Some are even speculating it may name the person who questioned what colour Archie’s skin would be. Everyone knows Omid is the Sussexes’ unofficial mouthpiece, so it’s fair to say there will be a huge deal of interest in this book on both sides of the Atlantic.”
