Horrifying pictures show blood pouring down the face of a teenage girl after she was stabbed in the head with a pair of scissors during an English lesson at school. Chloe Fisher, 15, was left with a gaping wound after the attack in the classroom, where she also suffered cuts to her hands, arms, nose and ear.

The alleged assault, which took place in Wordsley School in Stourbridge, West Midlands, was by a boy and followed a previous “altercation” on a school trip. The boy, 16, was later arrested after the girl was taken to hospital by her dad.

A CT scan revealed the blade had narrowly missed her skull. Her family are now keeping Chloe and her younger brother off school as they feel it is no longer safe for them there.

Chloe is in Year 11 and due to take her GCSEs. She said: “He had come in the classroom, stood there for one or two seconds. He went to the front, got a pair of scissors and said: ‘There you are’. He started attacking me with scissors.

“I didn’t feel anything – I just went completely numb. I was in shock and had my eyes closed, I didn’t know what was going on. I didn’t realise I was bleeding. They were dragging him out and then I saw the blood.

Chloe said she was the one to phone her dad after the incident which left her bleeding. She added: “My dad came to the school and had words with the teachers.  I also have a cut on my left arm, two cuts on my right hand, two cuts on my left hand and cuts behind my ear.

“The two on the head went deep enough to bleed under the scalp. Sometimes I can still hear the the noises he was making as he was attacking me.”

Her distraught parents Jay Fisher, 36, and Emma Loat, 35, have crtiticised the school for not letting them know immediately what had happened. They have also alerted Conservative MP for Dudley South Mike Wood via letter.

Chloe’s mum Emma said: “We are utterly shocked and distraught that this has happened to our daughter. mWhat makes this situation worse however, is the fact that it was not the school who contacted us to inform us of this horrific incident, it was our daughter. She called her dad screaming and crying down the phone.

“The Wordsley School staff failed to contact myself, my partner or even call an ambulance. My partner immediately left work and drove straight to the school. During this time we had still had no communication from The Wordsley School.

“Upon arrival my partner found Chloe who was surrounded by six teachers, but no police presence or paramedics at that time.

“The left side of Chloe’s face was plastered in blood. My partner questioned the staff as to why we were never called about the incident and to inform us that our daughter had been stabbed.

“Their response was that they presumed somebody had already called us. They also said that they also wanted to establish the truth before notifying the police. Two police officers did eventually arrive.”

Emma labelled the situation “absolutely appalling” and called for the school to be held accountable for its failings. “We are absolutely distraught that this has happened to our daughter. We do not feel that our children are safe to return to school,” she added.

“The school do not seem able to provide us with answers as to why they have failed us.”

Jay said he rushed to the school after his daughter sent him a Whatsapp video of blood pouring down her face. The dad-of-three, who is a refuse collector and HGV driver, said he spoke to Chloe on the phone and she was “in a panic”.

Chloe was taken to Russell’s Hall Hospital, in Dudley, for treatment for deep puncture wounds to her head and a bleed under her scalp.

He said: “I was devastated. I thought it was surely a prank or something. When she sent me the video and the distress she was in. I was distraught. When I was told that no paramedics or police, or me or my partner had been contacted, I was just upset.

“Seeing her in the state she was is bad enough, but knowing they hadn’t called the police made it even worse. They failed in their jobs, each and every one of them. They have failed all the kids there.

“I was finishing work at the time. She called me and she was in a panic. She said she’d been stabbed. It didn’t sink in right away. She said she was sending me a video of the blood running down her face.

“I saw the damage and distress that she’s in. He’s struck her multiple times. They said the lad had been escorted off the premises and was currently making his way home. To me that’s a dangerous thing to do.

“She had to have a CT scan on her head as the hospital suspected a bleed behind the ear drum and they weren’t sure how deep the stab wound was to her head.

“The nurses confirmed she had bleeding under the scalp but luckily the blade did not go deep enough to hit her skull. As a parent it’s our job to make sure they’re safe. When they’re at school it’s the teachers job.

“We haven’t really put a time scale on her going back to school at the moment. We know she’s in Year 11 and she leaves school in a couple of months.

“We haven’t made a concrete decision yet, we have work set for home. We spoke about Chloe attending school for her exams.”

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We were called to a report that a girl had been assaulted in Wordsley just before 2pm yesterday.

“We arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of assault with intent to cause serious harm. He remains in custody for questioning.

“A 15-year-old girl was treated for injuries she sustained to her arms and head.”

The school said the incident is being dealt with through the schools ‘behaviour policy’ and that a full investigation is to take place.

Ashley Weatherhogg, headteacher at Wordsley School, said: “An incident took place in school yesterday afternoon, which is being dealt with through the school’s behaviour policy.

“The school is now following the normal procedures and carrying out a full investigation.”
