Omid Scobie's Endgame drops out of Amazon's top 100 list as it's pulled from shop windows

Omid Scobie’s bombshell book about the royal family has already fallen out of Amazon’s top 100 list less than a week after it was released. Endgame hit the shelves on Tuesday, November 28, and now ranks 139th in the UK bestseller book charts.

The book is now in the table, which is updated hourly, behind children’s titles such as the Beano annual, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Stick Man; biographies from Britney Spears, Matthew Perry and Chris Kamara; and cookbooks from Mary Berry, Rick Stein and Tom Kerridge.

In the US, the book ranks 235th today, despite a media blitz in the week it was released. Scobie appeared on a number of daytime shows to promote the book including ITV’s This Morning.

It’s also believed some of the UK’s biggest book stores have pulled the book from window displays, with only one copy put aside to order at London’s oldest bookshop, Hatchards, reports The Guardian.

The newspaper added that about 14 copies were stacked on a table near the entrance of the nearby Waterstones, but there was ‘limited interest there too’.

The book made a number of claims about the royal family behind closed doors, including taking a swipe at ‘angry’ Prince William and Princess Kate, who Scobie described as ‘Stepford wife-like’.

It also looked at Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle’s exit from frontline royal life, with the pair yet to make any comment on it.

Scobie has previously been slammed as the couple’s mouthpiece, but he denies he is friends with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

This comes after the book had to be pulled from shelves in the Netherlands after the Dutch translation named two senior royals accused of making comments about Archie’s skintone.

Buckingham Palace is considering ‘all options’ with King Charles flying back to the UK to consult with Prince William. Scobie denies ever including the names of the royals at the centre of the ‘race row’.
