Omid Scobie Endgame LATEST: Harry and Meghan suffered 'final blow' over Frogmore eviction

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were taken aback when their former home Frogmore Cottage was offered to Prince Andrew, according to royal author Omid Scobie.

In his new book Endgame, published today, the biographer and unofficial Sussex spokesperson this gesture by King Charles was the “final blow” for the couple.

Mr Scobie insisted it was “undoubtedly” a dig by King Charles at his younger son, even though Andrew has remained at Royal Lodge ever since he was forced to quit as a working royal after his 2019 Newsnight interview, and has shown no interest in moving to Frogmore.

Harry and Meghan were given the property on the Windsor estate as a wedding present by Queen Elizabeth, and it remained their UK base even after they relocated to California.

They were able to stay there with their young family if they were ever in the UK, however following the publication of Harry’s memoir Spare at the start of the year the Duke and Duchess were asked to vacate Frogmore, with questions remaining over where they could stay in Britain should they wish to return.
