Now you can dine like King Charles – but it's going to cost you £275 per head

Royal foodie fans are in for a treat as they now have a chance to dine like King Charles at the hefty price of £275-a-head – and that’s wine not included.

A famous London restaurant will recreate the exact same menu the monarch enjoyed at the state banquet in France last month for one night only.

The event, titled “The King’s Culinary Journey”, will be held next Monday at Pavyllon, Yannick Alléno’s restaurant at the Four Seasons in Park Lane and the three chefs behind the banquet in the Hall of Mirrors will be in charge.

Yannick Alléno will create the main course, Bresse chicken with a gratin of cepes and romaine stuffed with corn and truffle.

The chef previously explained chose the chicken to showcase the finest French produce, and poulet de Bresse is regarded by many as the finest chicken in the world.

The starter and highlight of the royal menu, which features lobster and crab was created by Anne-Sophie Pic

The blue lobster and brown crab — a creamy crab cake and a lobster salpicon — will be served with a fresh almond voile and costmary mint.

French pastry chef Pierre Hermé was in charge of the dessert, which was a raspberry dessert requested by Brigitte Macron

It consisted of a compote of raspberries, lychee rose sorbet, raspberry sorbet, on a macaron.

Alléno told the Times: “Preparing a dinner for King Charles in Versailles was a great honour, and a wonderful experience I will always cherish.

“Recreating this sense of occasion and sharing this experience with a select number of guests for The King’s Culinary Journey at Pavyllon on Monday is something that will also be very special to me.”

But the menu will be slightly different to the one at Versailles as wine is not included, although the restaurant is offering a wine pairing, for an additional price.
