North Korea 'took photos of White House' with its military spy satellite

North Korea has announced its military spy satellite took photos of the White House, Pentagon according to news agency Yonhap.

Kim Jong-Un is said to have received pictures of the White House, Pentagon and US aircraft carriers at Norfolk Naval Base in Virginia, according to North Korean state media.

The country launched its first spy satellite last week which Pyongyang said would be used to monitor South Korean and US military movements.

South Korea, the United States and others strongly condemned the North’s satellite launch, which they viewed as a provocation that threatens regional peace.

United Nations Security Council resolutions ban any satellite launches by North Korea because the world body regards them as covers for testing its long-range missile technology.

North Korea says it has sovereign rights to launch spy satellites to cope with what it says are escalating US-led military threats.
