North Korea launches first ballistic missile of the year, raising Concerns


It came two months after Kim Jong Un’s regime claimed to have trialled engines of a new harder-to-detect rocket for hitting distant targets.

Experts have said the communist leader could be using the provocative tests to influence the results of South Korea’s elections in April and the US presidential voting this November.

Japan’s Defence Ministry also spotted yesterday’s missile.
