No second birthday greetings for Lilibet yet as royal accounts stay silent

With multiple social media accounts for the Royal Family, none have yet mentioned Lilibet’s birthday.

This shows a difference to last year, with all the accounts taking the time to offer their birthday wishes to Harry and Meghan’s little girl.

Last June 4, the official Twitter account for Buckingham Palace shared a post that read: “Wishing Lilibet a very Happy 1st Birthday!.”

The then-Prince Charles and Camilla offered their best wishes to Lilibet, tweeting: “Wishing Lilibet a very Happy 1st Birthday!.”

The now-Prince and Princess of Wales also took the time to send birthday wishes to their niece, tweeting: “Wishing a very happy birthday to Lilibet, turning one today!.”

Harry and Meghan’s son Archie turned four on May 6 – which was also the same day as the King’s Coronation.

The Royal Family’s socials also remained silent for Archie this year too – with the family offering no public wishes.

The likely explanation for radio silence on May 6 could be due to the hectic day for the King’s Coronation.

The Sussexes are said to be celebrating their daughter’s birthday with a small gathering at their home in the US.

In terms of Lili’s gifts, a source told New Idea: “No doubt she’ll be getting a truckload of presents. Meghan has fallen in love with Cartier’s absolutely divine music boxes.

“Harry is letting Meghan take charge of most of Lili’s gifts, but he was talking about adding more British books to the nursery that he used to love as a kid, like the Paddington Bear and Frog and Toad series.”

It has also been reported that the King is planning on sending a very special to his youngest granddaughter. The King is said to be sending the two-year-old a “custom-made cubby house” – just like the one owned by the late Queen and Princess Margaret when they were children.

Last year, Lilibet’s first birthday was marked with a ‘intimate backyard picnic’ at Frogmore Cottage, where the family-of-four stayed during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The party was reportedly attended by Zara and Mike Tindall’s three children – Mia, Lena and Lucas – as well as Peter and Autumn Phillips’ daughters – Savannah and Isla.

It is not known whether the now-Prince and Princess of Wales, their three children and the now-King and Queen attended.
