Nigel Farage refused to rule out one day rejoining the Conservatives and running to be an MP.
The former Ukip and Brexit Party leader branded Rishi Sunak a “lame duck walking” and warned the Tories face “total defeat” at the next general election.
But Mr Farage suggested he could be tempted back to the party under a different leader with different policies.
The former MEP’s comments come after he came third in the final of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last night.
Asked on ITV’s Good Morning Britain if he wanted to use his appearance on the reality show to rejoin the Tories and get elected to Parliament, he said: “I am looking at a Conservative government that is in total shambles.

“Facing tomorrow effectively a confidence vote on an issue that affects every single living human being in our country, namely, immigration on a level that never happened even during Tony Blair’s days.
“Rishi is a lame duck walking, the Conservative Party is headed for total defeat.
“As to whether I have a future in politics, I have no idea at this moment in time. But what I would say is never say never.
“And our country needs actually people at the top with some firm guidance as to where we’re going to go in the future.
“At the moment, we are rudderless and I don’t see a Labour Party with the strength to get us out of this mess.”
Pressed again, Mr Farage added: “I don’t think under this leadership there is very much prospect of this happening.
“If we had a leader that believed the size of the state should be smaller, taxes should be lower, we should stop sending 50 percent to university and teach young people trades and skills, that border controls should be like Australia based on skills and whether people can benefit the country, if we had leadership with the guts to stop young men crossing the Channel in boats.
“If some of those things happen, you know what, I might have to think about it.”
It comes amid intense speculation over whether Mr Farage will rejoin the Conservative Party as part of a political comeback. He was a member but left in 1992 following the signing of an EU treaty.
The PM insisted the party was a “broad church” when asked about the GB News presenter returning to the fold.
