Nicola Sturgeon torn apart by Question Time audience member in brutal inquiry takedown

Nicola Sturgeon was torn apart by a young Question Time audience member this week, sparking a loud round of applause from the Scottish audience.

Alexander asked the panel the first question, of whether the inquiry has exposed a lack of transparency in the Scottish Government.

After listening to SNP MSP Kate Forbes’ answer, presenter Fiona Bruce asked Alexander for his own opinion and he didn’t hold back.

Asked whether he was referring to the mass deletion of WhatsApp messages and the failure to minute crucial meetings, he said: “Like so many I was so utterly disappointed in the Scottish Government’s conduct”.

“I watched a lot of the inquiry, through my hands – it was that bad.”

“Nicola Sturgeon, I felt, had her ‘Jeremy Paxman moment’ where the KC took about four or five different attempts to distinguish between ‘deletion’ and ‘being retained’ [WhatsApps].”

“To me that stinks of secrecy, unaccountability and I thought she looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights.”

“I thought she was found out this week.”

Later on another audience member agreed, saying: “Nicola Sturgeon has been caught out, there’s no denying that”.
