Nick Kyrgios savages Boris Becker again as feud takes nasty turn with jail jibe

“I did play a bit in the 80s, but there was [Stefan] Edberg, [Mats] Wilander. The 90s were [Andre] Agassi, [Pete] Sampras. All these players make it possible for Nick Kyrgios not to play tennis at all this year and still be able to make a living from tennis.”

Kyrgios had previously claimed that the current crop of tennis stars were superior to their predecessors. “The game was so slow back then. I’ve watched Boris Becker and I’m not saying they weren’t good in their time, but to say that they would be just as good now, it’s absurd,” he told The Athletic.

Becker is yet to respond to Kyrgios’ latest jibe about his criminal charges but the former world No 1 previously tweeted: “Nick makes a lot of noise about tennis lately!?! Why does he speak about a sport he apparently hates… fact-check Nick has never won a major championship as a player or coach (yes doubles 1) so where is any credibility coming from?”
