Next James Bond favourite’s odds slashed after massive interest in last 24 hours

In just a few months time it will have been two years since No Time To Die hit cinemas.

Daniel Craig exited the James Bond franchise so explosively that whoever follows him in the reboot has a very hard act to follow.

Some fans hope that A-listers like Henry Cavill and Tom Hardy are in the mix.

Although experts believe whoever is chosen will be more of a rising star than a huge household name, just as Craig was.

Whatever the case, one actor in particular – who is rumoured to have impressed at secret auditions – has seen his odds slashed yet again.

The star in question is bookies’ favourite Aaron Taylor-Johnson, star of Kick-Ass, Bullet Train and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The 33-year-old has seen his odds slashed from 5-2 to an even shorter 15-8.

Coral’s John Hill said: “Aaron Taylor-Johnson has attracted strong interest in our James Bond betting in the last 24 hours, forcing us to slash his odds to replace Daniel Craig. Taylor-Johnson is now the clear favourite for the iconic role ahead of James Norton and Henry Cavill respectively.”

Taylor-Johnson, who is the right age to be taking on Bond and has shown he can do action with a slice of humour, nonetheless has his competition.

Just behind him in the odds are James Norton on 5-2, Henry Cavill on 3-1 and both Tom Hardy and Richard Madden on 7-1.

Then there’s Regé-Jean Page on 8-1. Jack Lowden on 10-1, Idris Elba on 14-1 and both Callum Turner and Sope Dirisu on 16-1, followed by both Aidan Turner and Lucien Laviscount on 20-1.
