New York earthquake: Rare 3.8 magnitude shock jolts Buffalo


New Yorkers were rocked awake this morning as an earthquake struck the Buffalo area, Earthquakes Canada reported that a 4.2 magnitude quake was detected in the region. 

The United States Earthquake tracker also said: “M 3.8 – 2 km ENE of West Seneca, New York.”

While data is preliminary, this could mean the quake was the largest earthquake felt in the Western New York area in the past 30 years.
