'Never surrender!' Donald Trump returns to Twitter to mock own mugshot

Donald Trump has returned to Twitter in a blaze of infamy.

The embattled former president took to Twitter to post a copy of his mugshot.

“Mug shot – August 24, 2023,” he wrote. “Election interference. Never surrender! DonaldJTrump.com.”

As of this writing, the tweet had more than 220,000 likes.

The tweet from Donald Trump marked the first time that the embattled ex-president had tweeted in more that a year.

Trump’s account was suspended by the former owner of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, shortly after the Jan. 6 riots.

Prior to posting the tweet, Trump had shared a copy of it on TruthSocial, his preferred social platform of choice.

When Elon Musk purchased the popular social media platform, he reinstated Trump’s account. However, Trump hadn’t posted until today.

“Today, at the notoriously violent jail in Fulton County, Georgia, I was ARRESTED despite having committed NO CRIME,” he wrote on his website, where he’s also soliciting donations.

Donald Trump made the posts while he was in the air, flying back from Atlanta into New Jersey on his “Trump Force One,” his private plane.

Trump is required to post content exclusively on TruthSocial before he posts on any other platform.

This requirement is part of his role as an investor in the company.
