Netflix 'surprised' after Prince Harry appears on rival service: 'Not a good look!'

Prince Harry appeared one of Netflix’s rival streaming platforms, taking the streaming giant “by surprise”.

Appearing on the Daily Mail’s Palace Confidential talkshow, host Joe Elvin said: “There’s been a development that actually caught Netflix by surprise.”

In response, the Mail’s royal editor Rebecca English said: “It definitely did. So around their [Harry and Meghan’s] time in Whistler in Canada, Harry gave an interview to GMA (Good Morning America).

“GMA have subsequently turned that couple of minutes with him into a 20-minute programme.

“It doesn’t have a lot more from Harry and what it is, is just showing him talking to Invictus but it’s been padded out with talking heads and it’s actually quite a negative take on the Royal Family and the British media and the situation over the last couple of years.

They also released two other projects including the Heart of Invictus, about Prince Harry’s Invictus Games, and Live to Lead, about inspiring world leaders.

It is believed to be a five-year contract between the US-based couple and the streaming giant, where they are expected to produce documentaries, docuseries, feature films, scripted shows and children’s programming.

As well as producing content for screens, there has also been some speculation that Meghan Markle will release a tell-all memoir.

It would follow the success of Prince Harry book, Spare, which was released on January 10, 2023.
