Mum stabs three nurses as she tries to abduct her three-day-old daughter from ICU

A mum has been arrested after allegedly stabbing three nurses trying to stop her from kidnapping her own newborn daughter from the ICU.

Kendra Greene, 31, has been accused of “violently removing” the three-day-old from an incubator in Florida and causing the baby’s breathing apparatus to disconnect.

The baby also had a central line and a feeding tube attached to her chest when her mother tried to take her out of the life-saving cot.

As medical staff spotted Greene grabbing the struggling infant, a “code pink” announcement indicating a child abduction was made on the loudspeaker.

Staff are tasked with preventing anyone from leaving the hospital when such a “code pink” is called, according to one of the stabbing victims.

After one of the nurses attempted to get Green to stop, the woman pulled out a knife and attacked three nurses yelling, “f**k you, b***h” to her first victim.

Police said one of the victims reported seeing Green heading for an emergency room exit as she tried to leave Florida Palms West Hospital on Thursday night.

The woman was allegedly carrying something close to her body and had a serrated kitchen knife in her hand.

One of Greene’s alleged victims was slashed on their right forearm, another on their right hand and the third was slashed on the side of the neck.

The furious mom managed to escape the hospital and dropped her daughter off with a family member before fleeing.

Police later arrested her after she crashed her car and attempted to hide herself in a body of water, authorities have said.

The arrest report showed Greene is a diagnosed schizophrenic and deteriorating rapidly. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said the baby is now back in the hospital and in “stable condition”.

They said: “Fortunately, Kendra dropped off the baby with a family member, so the baby was safely transported back to the hospital by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and is currently in stable condition.”

Greene was charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated child abuse. She was ordered to stay away from her infant daughter and the hospital.

The Florida mom was granted a $300,000 bond on Friday after being booked at the Palm Beach County Jail the night before.
