A mother has been arrested after she allegedly concocted a drink for her son’s school bully that sent him to the hospital, police said.
Texas mum Jennifer Lynn Rossi, 45, is accused of making a drink to give to his classmate after he allegedly stole his drink the day before at Legacy Traditional School – Alamo Ranch, near San Antonio.
Rossi is suspected of mixing lemon juice, vinegar, salt, and Gatorade together in a sports bottle, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by KSAT.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement: “Upon arriving to the school, deputies learned that the sick child was given a drink by a classmate during PE class.”
The child reportedly began experiencing nausea and a headache upon consuming the drink and was immediately taken to a hospital, police said.
The affidavit added that Rossi “only did it to stop the bullies at her son’s school,” KSAT reported.
Sheriff Javier Salazar said to USA Today in a statement: “Whether the allegations of bullying at the root of this situation are substantiated or not, there is never an excuse to take matters into your own hands and injure a child.”
Upon her arrest, Rossi was booked into jail and charged with injury to a child causing bodily injury.
