Mum begs 'Please bring me my baby back' as five children die in house fire

A heartbroken mom has shared a touching photo of her son and made a tearful plea to God after her child was one of five killed in a house fire.

Nicole Renae Husko posted on Facebook, calling her five year old son Zane Michael Jones a “sweet boy” and a “handsome bright boy”.

She wrote: “Mommy loves you so much I’m so lost for words. I don’t know what to say, I don’t know what to think, I wish you were here with me. I’m so sorry buddy, I love you so much. Such a beautiful soul [taken so] young. May you rest in peace with the other four beautiful children.”

In another post, she said: “I only got 5 years with him please bring me my baby back. None of us will ever forget you and the things you’ve done you make everybody smile.”

The tragic fire happened on Saturday evening in Bullhead City, Arizona, and sadly, the children aged two to thirteen couldn’t escape the burning home while no adults were present.

The names of the other little ones are still a secret, but four of them were brothers and sisters. The fifth child was a relative, says Emily Fromelt, a spokesperson for Bullhead City Police Department. They’re still trying to figure out how the fire started. Teams from the city’s police and fire departments are helping along with the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Pictures from the scene showed firefighters working hard to put out the flames on top of the house. Lance Ross, public information officer for the Bullhead City School District told AZ Central one of the children was in kindergarten at Desert Valley School nearby. He commented: “It’s a growing community but, at its heart, it’s still a small community. So when things like this happen, people pull together.”

This recalls an incident in Plum, Pennsylvania, last August when six people died and three homes were destroyed in a loud explosion that could be heard miles away. It left a street looking like a “war zone”. Folks were found stuck under rubble by first responders after a 911 call reported a “house explosion with multiple injuries and several houses on fire”. More than 20 firefighters were checked over, many for heat exhaustion.
