Multiple people have reportedly been shot as staff and students at a United States university have been told to stay away from certain parts of the campus.
Balitmore Police said cops responded to reports of an “active shooter” in the 1700 block of Argonne Drive. According to reports, the address matches residential accommodation for the Morgan State University.
A police spokesman said: “Baltimore Police Department is on scene of an active shooter situation in the 1700 block of Argonne Drive. We’re asking everyone to shelter in place and avoid the area.”
Reports suggest at least four people are said to have been shot.
A Morgan State University spokesman said: “An active investigation is currently underway related to a report of shots being fired on or near campus. Please stay clear of the area surrounding Thurgood Marshall Hall and the Murphy Fine Arts Center and shelter in place.”
Morgan State is historically considered one of the most diverse universities in the US.
