Mucking around! Duchess Sophie delights school pupils by getting close to pigs and sheep

Excited to get stuck in and not afraid of meeting the farmyard animals, Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh was “hands-on” at her latest royal engagement in Somerset at a ‘Field to Food Learning Day’ event.

Dressed for the occasion in a long chic navy coat, with golden detailing, and her golden locks tied up, Sophie accessorised her look with a brown leather clutch and opted for a simple make-up look with dusky eyes.

Sophie has served as Patron of the Association of Show & Agricultural Organisations since 2012 and appeared in high spirits and was all smiles for today’s event.

The Duchess cooed over sheep in a pen, stroked pigs and little piglets in the hay, and studied a bee hive alongside young children learning about local produce and farm animals.

Visiting Shepton Mallet, Sophie walked around the stalls that showcased the region’s best tasty treats including apples and jams.
