Moment vile thug abuses airport staff with foul-mouthed tirade caught on camera

Footage has emerged of a thug abusing staff at Edinburgh International Airport after they told him he couldn’t board a flight because the gate had closed.

The man was filmed insulting staff members, branding one worker a “fat, speccy b******” and taking photos of women behind the check-in desk before launching an expletive-laden tirade.

Reportedly a worker for the company Qatargas, the man lost it when he arrived at Edinburgh airport for his flight to Qatar, where he is believed to work as a client representative.

Video of the vile rant in May this year shows the man abusing workers and defending his right to free speech before repeatedly criticising the staff members’ appearances.

In the two-minute clip, a female member of staff can be heard telling him: “Do not talk to my staff like that.”

To which the man fires back: “I don’t give a flying f***, sweetheart. I’ll speak wherever I want in Scotland because I’m a Scotsman. Freedom of speech.

“Away and dye your f****** roots. They look like they’ve been planted in the garden five years ago.”

The man then holds up his phone before rudely asking a worker: “How many chins do you have?”

A worker in a hi-vis Swissport vest asks the man to stop filming for data protection reasons, but he lashes out with another attack.

He says: “This is Scotland. I can film wherever the f*** I want. I could even film in Buckingham Palace if I want, alright, sweetheart? Your roots need planted in the front garden.”

He then criticies a male worker at a nearby desk, telling him he works for Qatargas and boasting he makes $1,500 (£1,700) per day.

The angry thug then asks: “What you going to do, pal? Are you going to do something about it, pal?

“You think this is a f****** holiday? I’m going to work. I work for Qatargas, mate. The moment they tell me I can’t get on the flight it’s fine, ’cause I still get f****** paid, mate.

“Fifteen hundred dollars a day, my man.”

Police Scotland confirmed the man was issued with a recorded warning after the tirade.

A spokesperson for Swissport, which operates check-in desks at the airport on behalf of Qatar Airways, told the Daily Record: “Our people have the right to work in a safe environment.”

They added that while the company is committed to helping passengers, Swissport will not hesitate to take a zero-tolerance approach to anyone who subjects them to “abusive, violent or threatening behaviour”.

Qatargas has been approached for comment.
