Moment Ukrainian drones rip into Russian vehicle warehouse igniting huge fireball

A huge cache of vital Russian equipment including a rare tank was blown up by Ukrainian Kamikaze drones, in a further humiliation for Putin’s frustrated forces.

Shocking footage shows a kamikaze drone entering a Russian hanger and hovering close to what appears to be the seldom-seen BMPT Terminator tank, supposed to be one of the most advanced weapons systems at Russia’s disposal, before flying into it.

The 53-ton armoured vehicles are designed for fighting in cities, acting as support tanks next to the main armoured columns.

Other clips show drones swooping down to smash two T72 tanks before a third detonates on a BMP-3 tank.

Further footage shows a blaze raging in the hangar following the string of surprise attacks.

Ukraine’s forces also claim to have blown up two C60 anti-aircraft guns, as well as military mobilisation trucks.

It is not clear where the attack took place. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has been approached for comment. The Kamikaze drones are believed to have been supplied by Washington as part of military aid for Kyiv, although Ukraine has crafted its own first-person-view explosive drones since the war began.

Ukraine’s newly appointed commander-in-chief of the armed forces Oleksandr Syrskii has said drones and electronic warfare would play a greater role – something his predecessor pointed to shortly before he was dismissed.

The country has the ambition of building a million small drones this year, as the technology plays an increasingly key role in Ukraine’s defence against Russia’s invading forces.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Denys Shmyal said during a budget meeting the primary goal of the Ukrainian government was to develop high-tech defence industries, with $1 billion going towards drones.

“We are talking about the developments of the Defence Tech cluster, scaling up the production of drones of various categories, electronic warfare,” he said.

Meanwhile, delays in weapons deliveries from Western allies to Ukraine are opening a door for Russian battlefield advances, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says, making the fight “very difficult” along parts of the front line where the Kremlin’s forces captured a strategic city last weekend ahead of the war’s second anniversary.

Zelensky and other officials have often expressed frustration at the slowness of promised aid deliveries, especially since signs of war fatigue have emerged.

European countries are struggling to find enough stocks to send to Ukraine, and US help worth £47.5 billion stalling over political differences.

Even so, more help is heading Kyiv’s way, as Sweden announced its biggest aid package so far on Tuesday and Canada said it was expediting the delivery of over 800 drones.
