Moment lovestruck Brit attempts to enter Russian territory to meet internet girlfriend

A video has captured the bizarre moment a British man attempted to cross the border into Russian territory to meet his internet girlfriend.

The man was caught and detained while trying to cross the border in Kaliningrad, a Russian territory between Poland and Lithuania.

He reportedly made the attempt twice before being apprehended at the Polish border. Guards found him with no visa or vehicle documents after making it that far in his BMW.

He was adamant that he must across the border to meet his girlfriend in St Petersburg, 700 miles away from where he was found in Grzechotki.

The footage shows him making his way down the road on foot before being detained. He later claimed to border guards, who called him “stubborn”, that his satnav had simply taken him the wrong way.
