A video has allegedly captured the knifeman who reportedly stabbed six children in Annecy, France, being chased down by bystanders.
The footage, originally posted to social media, shows the attacker jogging across a playground in the city.
A bystander at the scene said the man was “laughing” as he stabbed the children, leaving at least two in critical condition.
The video opens with a bearded man wearing sunglasses standing calmly in front of a children’s playground in Annecy and raising his fist in the air.
He is seen carrying a knife with its blade pointing down and first strolls around the area, seemingly unaware he is being recorded.
After some time walking around, a second man wearing a backpack exits the park behind him, prompting the knifeman to walk away.
The video then cuts to different footage that shows two men wearing backpacks closing in on the bearded man with a knife, who breaks into a jog across a patch of grass.
The only sounds captured are haunting screams in the distance and some muffled speaking as panic unfolds at the scene.
A social media user sharing the video on Twitter said the shouting was people screaming for help “for the children that had been stabbed”.
