Without a senior midfielder on the bench, Klopp was forced to call upon Joe Gomez as a replacement for Gravenberch. He took up a position at right-back while Conor Bradley pushed forward and Harvey Elliott came inside alongside Wataru Endo and Alexis Mac Allister.
“The situation is not great, absolutely not,” Klopp said before the final. “We don’t know, we go day by day. As long as we have 11, we will go for it.
“It’s one of those nights where it will be difficult to stop talking about it. It just wants to come out of me. I’m so happy.”
