Mohamed Salah demands Gaza aid after 'horrifying' scenes as Liverpool star donates

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has called for humanitarian aid to be delivered to Gaza amid the outbreak of war between Israel and Hamas. Hundreds of Palestinians are believed to have died following an explosion at the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City.

Thousands of displaced Palestinians had sought shelter at the hospital due to airstrikes by Israeli military forces. Israel has denied responsibility for the explosion.

Palestine is running out of basic supplies. Liverpool forward Salah has called on world leaders to ‘come together’ and ensure that Gazans receive food, water and medical supplies.

In an emotional video message posted to his social media channels, the Egyptian said: “It’s not always easy to speak in times like this. There has been too much violence and too much heartbreaking brutality. The conditions in recent weeks have been unbearable to witness.

“All lives are sacred and must be protected. The massacres need to stop. Families are being torn apart.

“What’s clear now is that humanitarian aid to Gaza must be allowed immediately. The people living there are in terrible conditions.

“The scenes at the hospital last night were horrifying. The people of Gaza need food, water and medical supplies urgently.

“I’m calling on the world leaders to come together to prevent a further slaughter of innocent souls. Humanity must prevail.”

The latest conflict between Israel and Palestine has entered a second week. On October 7, Palestinian militant group Hamas launched its biggest attack on Israel in 50 years, with over 1,200 civilians believed to have been killed.
