Missing woman found in roadside hotel after SEVEN YEARS as screams alert shocked police

A woman who had been missing for seven years was found in a motel room in Michigan this week after police heard screaming and crying, officials said on Thursday.

State police received a tip Tuesday from someone saying they had been contacted by their missing stepdaughter who claimed she was being held against her will in a motel.

The unidentified woman, who is now in her 30s, disappeared in 2017.

Detectives traced the woman to the Evergreen Motel in Inkster after they heard noises from inside.

Michigan State Police Lt. Mike Shaw said to WXYZ: “They described it as like a crying, kind of screaming type of noise that lured them to that specific area.”

The woman was found alone and physically unharmed inside the room, but police said she “was pretty distraught.”

A gun and drugs were also reportedly discovered inside the room, authorities said.

Michigan State Police said in a statement: “She was transported to Beaumont Dearborn for a medical evaluation and interview by detectives.”

Police added: “She was reunited with family and was given other resources to help her recover.”

While no arrests have been made yet, police said a suspect has been identified in the case.

Shaw said to CBS Detroit: “It may take us nowhere. It may not be something that we can charge criminally, but at least we got her out of the situation.”
