Missing monkey caught after wild night breaking into neighbor's homes and causing injury

Meet Momo the Monkey, a pesky primate who found himself in more than a little bit of hot water when he escaped from his owner’s home in Indianapolis, Indiana, and wreaked havoc on his neighborhood.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the monkey — whom Wayne Pham keeps as a pet — escaped on Wednesday (October 4) for reasons that still aren’t clear, as of this writing.

The primate sent police, and neighbors, on a wild goose chase as they tried to catch him.

They all, however, were unsuccessful, leading Momo the Monkey to wage his own little campaign of terror.

Momo was caught jumping on neighbor’s cars, leaving them dented and scratched. He then was caught at various times stealing beer cans and snacks from his bewildered neighbors.

He even scratched and possibly bit a few unsuspecting people.

“I was starting to get out of my car again and the police (several of them) pulled up and told me to stay in the car that there is a very aggressive monkey on the loose,” one witness wrote on Facebook.

“There are reports of minor injuries from the monkey but we can’t confirm it is from bites,” the police said in a statement.

Finally, Pham was able to corner Momo the Monkey when he climbed a tree.

He ultimately lured Momo down from the tree, and back home to safety, with a peach.

It’s safe to say, however, that neighbors have had enough of the monkey business for the rest of the year.
