Missing man found alive at sea and drifting in life raft, two weeks after disappearance

According to the USCG, the man was taken to shore by the Canadian Coast Guard and was reported to be in stable condition as of Thursday night.

One of the fishermen said the rescued individual had been surviving on salmon while alone at sea for thirteen days, KING-TV reported.

Ryan Planes, one of the men on the fishing trip, told the news station: “We pulled him on board. He gave me a big hug and it was emotional.”

Planes’ uncle, another rescuer, told the station: “We made him breakfast. He drank three bottles of water. He was pretty hungry, poor guy.”

The Coast Guard had previously suspended the search for the missing vessel on October 25 and issued condolences to family members of the missing passengers.

The other passenger on the vessel remains missing as the USCG continues to investigate.
