Mike Tindall's shock admission 'prison could have been on cards' if he hadn't met Zara

Mike Tindall was born on October 18 1978 in West Yorkshire, and was educated at the Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Wakefield, an independent public school.

His father was a banker for Barclays and his mother was a social worker, a far cry from the royal background his wife hailed from.

Mike played rugby for Bath and Gloucester before he retired from playing professionally in 2014, and he was of course part of the World Cup winning squad that travelled to Australia and New Zealand in 2003.

The Tindalls are often very affectionate with each other in public, sharing a cheeky kiss or a laugh together, with body language expert Judi James claiming they “flirt” more than most royal couples.

She told Express.co.uk: “With some royals you have to wait months to spot a set of subtle flirt signals and even then it might be a glance or a truncated, intentional gesture, but with Zara and Mike the flirting and PDAs are almost constant.

“The sexiest couple in the Royal Family appear to be as much in love and lust as they were when they first married and flirt signals always seem to be part of their natural repertoire.”
