Mike Tindall has confessed that he wanted to “rip off his trousers” as he danced the night away at the King’s Coronation Concert on May 7. Mike revealed on his sports commentary podcast The Good, The Bad and The Rugby that he was also fighting the urge to dance – all while waiting for a cue from the King to stand up. He attended the Coronation Concert – as well as the ceremony the previous day – with his wife, Zara Tindall.

Mike said: “You can’t not hear Lionel Richie sing ‘All Night Long’ and get up and dance.
“The worst thing was I was like, ‘Yeah get up and dance to this – but is the King going to stand up?”
The King then appeared to get up and dance – closely followed by the rest of the royals.
The 44-year-old said: “I did think at one point, ‘I really want to dance right now, and if I get up and sort of get into a s***drop, rip my trousers off… we knew that Kermit [the frog] was coming at some point, and I was like, ‘Could I dance with Kermit the frog?'”

Mike expressed his delight over the Coronation Concert – also that he was so “enthusiastic” that he “broke” his flag.
The former rugby player then discussed his feelings about the weekend as a whole.
He referred to the weekend as “incredible”, whilst also taking the time to praise the King.
He said: “I thought the King was on point to a T and I think you could see how much he was concentrating and the emotion that was going into everything.”

Mike concluded by calling the coronation weekend “strange but amazing”.
A few days after the Coronation weekend came to a close, Mike took to his Instagram account to share some pictures with his 597k followers.
He wrote, alongside the fun clips and snaps, that it had been an “unbelievable 10 day!!!”
Mike shares three children with Zara and the trio were all absent from the celebrations over the historic weekend.
The couple have chosen to keep their children largely out of the royal spotlight, although have occasionally bought their two eldest children – nine-year-old Mia and four-year-old Lena – to engagements.
Their two daughters attended the Easter Sunday service this year, opting to not bring out their two-year-old son.
