Mike and Zara Tindall rushed home from Australia trip for this adorable reason

Mike and Zara Tindall have rushed home from Australia to help their eldest daughter Mia celebrate her tenth birthday today, January 17.

The couple, who have been married since 2011 and met in Australia back in 2003, enjoyed the trip away without Mia and her two younger siblings Lena, five, and two-year-old Lucas.

However they would never miss such an important family occasion and are likely spending the day celebrating at home with the family at Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire.

During their trip Down Under Mike and Zara attended the annual Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival, as Zara has been an ambassador of the Magic Millions festival for the last 12 years.

Magic Millions is an Australian Thoroughbred racehorse auction house, and as a professional equestrian herself the 42-year-old royal wasted no time getting involved in the festivities as she took part in a game of polo.

The pair were delighted to be able to travel to the event again, having not been able to attend since 2020 due to restrictions caused by COVID-19.

Mike said: “It’s lovely to have a break from the bleak January in the UK. It’s nice to come back down and see all our friends again. We love the ambassadors and we love getting together.”

Zara added that returning to the event was like “coming home”, saying: “It really is like a family and it’s been hard not being here for two years.”

“We love Australia a lot and we love the lifestyle, I think it’s brilliant for kids but whether we could actually move there, we’re not sure.”

On Sunday night the couple were snapped back in London as they attended the premiere of the new Netflix rugby documentary Six Nations: Full Contact.

Mike, a former rugby player, looked smitten with his wife as the couple rocked a smart casual look on the red carpet, with Mike in a navy blazer, white shirt and jeans while Zara was dressed in a long blue coat, blue satin shirt and black velvet trousers.
