Mia Tindall doesn't have royal title due to Princess Anne's move years before her birth

Mia Tindall may be the great-niece of King Charles and Queen Camilla but she was not given a royal title due to a decision made by her grandmother Princess Anne decades ago.

Back in 1977 Anne and her then-husband Captain Mark Phillips welcomed their first child, their son Peter, with his younger sister and Mia’s mum Zara arriving in 1981.

When her children were born the Princess Royal made the choice that they would not have royal HRH titles, meaning that Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall are not known as Prince or Princess.

This has been extended to Peter and Zara’s own children, as Peter has daughters Savannah and Isla with his ex-wife Autumn Kelly, and Zara and husband Mike Tindall parents to Mia and her younger siblings Lena and Lucas.

None of them have royal titles, however they have maintained their place in the line of succession, with 10-year-old Mia currently 22nd in line to the throne.

“We were very lucky that we got to do it a bit our own way. My family has a great work ethic as well which I’m hoping they instilled in me and is still going to this day.”

Zara and Mike live with their children on the Princess Royal’s Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire, although there has been speculation that the family could relocate to Australia due to the couple’s love of the country.

Mike previously said on the subject: “It’s not on the cards, people try to say we almost did but we never almost did. It’s never been an actual thing where we’ve looked for a house or anything.

”We love Australia a lot and we love the lifestyle, I think it’s brilliant for kids but whether we could actually move there, we’re not sure.”
