Met Office issues urgent 16-hour warning as Brits blasted by storm in just hours


The Met Office has issued an urgent 16-hour weather warning as Britain is due to be blasted by storms in a matter of hours. The yellow weather alerts are in place for wind from 8am tomorrow morning until midnight on Christmas Day.

The forecaster has issued two alerts, with the first hitting Stoke-on-Trent, York, Hull, Newcastle and the rest of the North East of England from tomorrow morning (Sunday, December 24).

Then, the adverse weather front will batter Scotland from midday. It comes just days after Storm Pia wreaked havoc across the UK, causing huge delays to trains, flights and even causing chaos on the roads.
