Swathes of the UK are facing yellow weather warnings, as Brits brace for the possibility of flooding as torrential rain is forecast to fall for hours.
Central Scotland, north-east England, north-west England and most of Wales are all set to be battered by severe downpours from Tuesday into Wednesday.
Meteorologists warned: “Heavy rain may lead to some flooding and disruption to travel”.
The Met Office experts added: “Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely” and that “some interruption to power supplies and other services likely”.
