A slew of yellow weather warnings have been issued by the Met Office with a possible danger to life as thundery storms lash parts of England and strong winds batter the Welsh coast.
One yellow weather warning covers a swathe of East Anglia down to Kent with the Met Office reporting there is a “small chance” homes and businesses could be flooded quickly with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes or hail.
It added: “There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life.”
