Meghan's talent agency will tell her 'she’s not most popular woman in world', says expert

This has fuelled speculation Meghan signed the lucrative deal with the leading Hollywood talent agency in order to make her a “power player” in Tinseltown.

But Ingrid Seward, Royal Family expert and Majesty Magazine’s editor-in-chief, warned the Duchess of Sussex will likely be reminded of her dwindling popularity early on in the relationship between the two parties.

Sky News Australia host Chris Kenny said on his show: “Meghan Markle, she’s not going to be there (at the Coronation). She has signed up with a new talent agency.

“Do we expect her to Instagram herself into the event somehow?”

Seward replied: “I don’t think so. I think that Meghan Markle will be taking it very, very gently.

“The William Morris agency that she has signed up with, I think they are going to let her know she’s not one of the most popular women in the world at the moment.

“That is their job – to reinstate her in the popularity stakes – but it seems to me that Harry doesn’t have a great deal to do with this.

“They are taking on their Archewell Foundation, but there is very little mention of Harry so he has been a bit side-lined here. However, he is useful because he is the one with the title.”

The comments come following claims Meghan signed the multi-million pound deal with WME in order to make her a “power player” in Hollywood.

One “highly placed” Hollywood insider told Page Six: “This deal is about making Meghan a power player in Hollywood.

“Even though she is, of course, an actress, this isn’t about movies or shows for Meghan to star in, it is about creating projects for her to produce – she wants to run the show.”

A source who knows Meghan and her husband Prince Harry said: “They need to find a way to make money – this is business.”

Another insider added: “Through the fact that Archewell (her company with Prince Harry) is now repped by WME it bolsters Harry and Meghan’s bid to become power players in the production arena.”

In 2020, Meghan and Harry relinquished their roles as working members of the Royal Family when they decided to relocate from the UK. They now live in Montecito, California with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Since then, they have signed multi-million dollar media deals, including with Netflix, which saw them star in their own six-part documentary series on the online streaming platform in December.

They also signed a bumper deal with Spotify, with Meghan believed to be bringing her Archetypes podcast for a second season, according to Page Six.

A source told the publication: “As Meghan has herself said, she’s moved on, she’s living in the present and she’s going to explore her life with the freedoms that her new life affords her.”

The insider claimed the deal with WME will be “more solely focused” on her business ventures, adding: “She has a lot of business ideas, she considers herself an entrepreneur, and now there’s a machine behind her to support those ideas.”
