Meghan's family issued warning after creating 'another distraction' from Coronation

Meghan Markle’s family are threatening their reputation amid concerns they will create “another distraction” for King Charles III, who is preparing to be crowned monarch, an author has told Express.co.uk.

Samantha Markle, the Duchess of Sussex’s half-sister, and her father, Thomas Markle, are set to unite for a broadcast on Channel 7 Spotlight ahead of the Coronation on May 6.

Concerns about the content of the show have emerged, particularly after Samantha was seen calling Meghan and her husband Prince Harry’s relationship as “toxic”.

With the broadcast appearing across the weekend when the world’s eyes will be on the Royal Family, the decision to take part in the interview has been discussed by critics.

Among them was Andrew Lownie, who told Express.co.uk that it will be “a plague” on both the Markle household and those inside Buckingham Palace as yet more controversy emerges relating to Harry and Meghan.

The Coronation has already been a hot topic, with Meghan’s decision to remain in the US as opposed to attending the ceremony.

And Lownie, who penned the 2021 book Traitor King: The Scandalous Exile of the Duke & Duchess of Windsor, claimed the Markle family interview will be yet another diversion from Charles’s crowning moment.

He said: “Charles will see this as another distraction and it’s unfortunate timing for him.

“A plague on both their houses many will say and it will help no one’s reputation in the Markle family.”

Within the interview, Samantha – who has not reportedly spoken to Meghan in nine years – claims the Sussexes are “really unhealthy for each other”, labeling the relationship “toxic”.

There has never been any suggestion that issues linger between Harry and Meghan, with the couple happy together.

According to Taylor Auerbach, who fronts the Channel 7 Spotlight feature, the interview will show Meghan “as you’ve never seen before”, adding: “For the first time, the Markles unite with an extraordinary message on the eve of King Charles III’s Coronation.”

Meghan has been estranged with her family for a number of years, despite previous attempts by the likes of Thomas to reintegrate himself into her life.

The Sussexes appear relaxed prior to the Coronation – which will be attended only by Harry – with the pair snapped this week at an LA Lakers basketball game.

For Gayle King, the media personality and friend of the Sussexes, it showed the world that they were feeling at ease with where they are in the lives.

According to an interview with US Weekly, the broadcaster added of Harry’s decision to attend the Coronation: “I think they make the decision that’s best for them. But I think — as [far as] his dad [Charles] — I’m glad he’s going.”
