Meghan Markle's 'perfect' engagement style look – and how you can do the same

Now, one beauty expert has suggested Meghan nailed the autumn proposal look to perfection.

According to research from beauty and wellness site Fresha London, the key to getting the autumn proposal style right is focusing on low-key and natural-looking make-up as well as a “minimalist manicure”.

The company looked at social media and analysed posts which included the hashtags #proposal and #engagement.

These findings were taken from Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest with Fresha London also examining celebrity posts to see which stars seemed to have followed these trends to attain the top autumnal proposal style with Meghan coming out on top.

Those hoping to achieve a similar look, should plump for manicures which are understated and have a natural base with the research suggesting 20 percent of would-be brides went for nude nails while 11 percent chose to wear white.

Not far behind was 10 percent of fiancees who chose a classic French manicure. But the site also suggested going for chrome for those looking to be a bit edgier and on trend.

A spokesperson for Fresha London said: “One easy mistake that a lot of people make – especially if they’re completely surprised by a proposal – is to overdo their makeup, especially at this time of year.

“This may be because they’re overcompensating for the dull weather or struggling to see their makeup in full detail due to waning natural light.”

They went on to say: “People can also neglect their skincare at this time of year, leading to dry or uneven skin in photos due to there being less moisture in the skin during winter than in the summer.

“The same also goes for not drinking enough water – even though you may be tempted to swap out your water for a hot chocolate at this time of year, keeping hydrated is key.

“Finally, many people can choose dark, bold or complicated nail designs as the festive season approaches, which aren’t really ideal for a proposal pic.

“The perfect proposal manicure should be minimalist in design and preferably feature just one nude base colour, as this will avoid distracting attention from the main event – your new ring!”
