Meghan Markle's new brand has surprise link to former lifestyle blog

Meghan Markle’s new brand has a surprising link to her former lifestyle blog, Tig.

The Duchess of Sussex announced her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, on March 14.

Along with it, she created a website with a landing page where fans can join a waitlist.

Eagle-eyed observers noted that the website states it was “Made by Article”, the same agency Meghan worked with while running The Tig.

The Tig is a Toronto-based company that Meghan has previously raved about.

“There is a reason I have worked with Ryan and the talented team at Article for a decade: their attention to detail, their creativity and care, and the thoughtful approach to design as well as to the user experience,” she said in a review on Article’s website.

“They’re not just designers; they are collaborators who elevate your ideas into visual identities.

“They’re a very special company, plus they’re Canadian, so I’m a fan.”

Prior to dating Prince Harry in 2016, Meghan ran her lifestyle blog where she wrote about food, fashion, travel and more.

Meghan said the blog was not “just a hobby for her” as it went on to be a successful business.

“I’ve never been the type of person to do only one thing. I guess that’s how my website was born,” the Duchess of Sussex said in the 2022 Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan.

“There was fashion, there was tons of food and travel, so it was all of the things that I loved. And The Tig wasn’t just a hobby. It became a really successful business.”

The website shut in 2017, with the farewell letter still live on site.

Meghan wrote: “After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it’s time to say goodbye to The Tig.

“What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity. You’ve made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy.

“Keep finding those Tig moments of discovery, keep laughing and taking risks, and keep being ‘the change you wish to see in the world.’ Above all, don’t ever forget your worth — as I’ve told you time and time again: you, my sweet friend, you are enough. Thank you for everything.”
