Meghan Markle's lifestyle brand set to 'give Gwyneth Paltrow a run for her money'

Meghan Markle recently soft launched her new website, American Riviera Orchard, and fans are flocking to the Instagram page, which already has 586K followers and growing despite not having any content yet.

Speaking to Daily Express US, Lynn Carratt, head of talent at Press Box PR, said this is thanks to The Meghan Effect, which is when Meghan shows interest in something, people follow suit.

Ms Carratt said of Meghan’s new venture: “She had a blog called The Tig, that she had to get rid of, it was quite popular with her fans.”

“She’s had a great interest in lifestyle brands, and it is something she’s very good at. She probably wants to give Gwyneth Paltrow a run for her money,” referring to Paltrow’s successful lifestyle brand Goop.

Her website has a landing page, but there’s no content, just yet, so if anything, people are drawn to the brand because of Meghan herself, which has happened in the past, like when the J.Cew website crashed after Meghan was spotted wearing one of their designs.

Carratt opined: “I think they need to just move on and focus on what they want to do, and then find those bridges with family in private.”

She added: “If you want to launch your brand, launch your brand, it doesn’t need to be connected to the Royal Family in any way.

“She’s free to do what she wants to do, she doesn’t need to be connected, she doesn’t need to be a duchess, it could just be plain ol’ Meghan and Harry.”
